There are over 102 million people who live amongst the 7,641 islands that comprise the Philippines. Multiple ethnicities and cultures exist throughout the islands and includes 19 recognized regional languages. As the 12th most populous country in the world, the Philippines is growing at a faster rate than any other country in East Asia.

Christianity is the dominate religion in the Philippines with 80 percent of the population professing to be Roman Catholic with less than two percent identifying as Protestant. About five percent of the population claim to be Muslim.

Basketball is both the most played and the most popular sport in the Philippines with amateur and professional teams. Boxing is also popular in the Philippines as they have produced 38 major world champions in various weight categories. One boxer in particular, Manny Pacquiao, is known worldwide and was even named “Fighter of the Decade” by the Boxing Writers Association of America, World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization. The Philippines were first country in Southeast Asia to compete and win a medal in the Summer Olympic Games and also the first tropical nation to compete at the Winter Olympic Games.

Since becoming established in 2010, FCA Philippines is making an impact in the lives of coaches and athletes through 3 Dimensional Coaching, sports camps, equipping local chaplains to minister to teams and with their FCA Radio program broadcasting in 4 major cities. Staff and volunteers offer their own time, resources and funds to reach their communities for Christ.

FCA Philippines is part of the FCA South Pacific Global Region. FCA Philippines is experiencing firsthand how sports is opening the door for opportunities to present to coaches and athletes the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.
